Savour The Tweed 2026: Five Days of Food, Produce & Culinary Experiences on the Tweed Coast
Food lovers visiting the NSW North Coast this October have a very good reason to plan a few extra days in the region.
Savour The Tweed 2026 returns from Wednesday 21 to Sunday 25 October 2026, celebrating the farmers, producers, chefs, restaurants and landscapes that have made the Tweed one of Australia's most exciting regional food destinations.
For visitors staying in Brunswick Heads, Byron Bay, Kingscliff, Cabarita Beach, Pottsville or the wider Tweed Coast, the festival provides five days of opportunities to taste your way around the Northern Rivers.
What is Savour The Tweed?
Savour The Tweed is the Tweed Shire's signature food and drink event. The 2026 festival is its third year and features an expanded program of almost 30 events spread across five days.
Rather than taking place in one festival ground, experiences are held throughout the Tweed, encouraging visitors to explore the coast, hinterland, farms, villages and restaurants that make the region special.
What's Happening in 2026?
The program combines intimate producer experiences, long-table dining, chef collaborations, tastings and special culinary events. Visitors can expect opportunities to meet local growers and producers while discovering where some of the region's best ingredients actually come from.
It's an event designed around the idea of connecting food with place.
Start with the Tweed Taste Trail
The festival begins on Wednesday 21 October with the Tweed Taste Trail at Murwillumbah Farmers Market. Visitors can wander through the market meeting farmers, producers and stallholders while sampling local produce.
Artisan cheeses, fresh bread and locally grown ingredients are among the experiences that help tell the story of the Tweed through food.
From the Coast to the Hinterland
One of the great attractions of Savour The Tweed is the opportunity to explore. The Tweed landscape changes quickly from beaches and coastal villages to sugar cane, farmland, rainforest and the dramatic volcanic landscape surrounding Wollumbin.
A food event can therefore become an entire day's adventure. Enjoy breakfast by the coast, visit a producer in the hinterland, explore Murwillumbah and finish the day with a special dinner.
Stay in Brunswick Heads and Explore the Tweed
Brunswick Heads provides an excellent southern base for a Savour The Tweed getaway. From Brunswick Heads, visitors can explore north towards Pottsville, Cabarita Beach, Kingscliff, Fingal Head and Tweed Heads, or travel inland through the Tweed Valley.
You can also combine the festival with time in nearby Byron Bay.
Make It a North Coast Food Holiday
Don't limit your visit to one festival event. The Northern Rivers is known for its farmers markets, cafes, bakeries, restaurants, roadside stalls and small-scale food producers.
A Savour The Tweed weekend can easily become a four or five-night North Coast food holiday.
